Monlau FP fosters innovation projects in Vocational Training

innovation projects in monlau fp

Since 2024, Monlau FP has participated in various educational innovation projects related to technology, automotive, robotics, augmented reality, the STEAM approach, 5G, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

These initiatives are part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, and are developed in collaboration with educational centers, specialized companies, and professionals from various technological fields.

Throughout this journey, Monlau FP has worked to bring innovation closer to the classroom, strengthen technical and transversal skills, and offer students learning experiences connected to real challenges.

The common goal of these projects is clear: to better prepare students for their academic and professional future, fostering creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and exposure to emerging technologies.

Innovation applied to Vocational Training

Vocational Training is undergoing a transformation. New professional profiles increasingly require technical, digital, scientific, and transversal skills.

Therefore, at Monlau FP, we understand innovation as a tool to improve students’ learning experience and align training with the real needs of the labor market.

The projects developed since 2024 allow students to work with new technologies, participate in active methodologies, and engage with challenges related to sectors such as automotive, industry, robotics, and automation.

Furthermore, these initiatives promote collaboration among centers, teachers, and companies, generating spaces for shared learning and knowledge transfer.

Augmented Reality Welding Workshop for Automotive

One of the projects developed is the Augmented Reality Welding Workshop for Automotive, an initiative that incorporates augmented reality into students’ practical training.

The project aims to implement a training environment that allows working on welding-related skills through simulation and AR technology. This methodology helps reduce risks, optimize material costs, and facilitate safer and more sustainable practice.

Augmented reality offers students the possibility to train technical procedures in a controlled environment, promoting repetition, error correction, and progressive skill improvement.

In the automotive field, these types of tools represent an opportunity to renew teaching processes and prepare students for a sector that demands precision, safety, and technological adaptation.

The project is coordinated by IES Almina, with the participation of Monlau Centre d’Estudis and the collaboration of Augmented Training Services (ATS). At Monlau, the project was led by teachers Borja Pineda and Antonio Iturriaga.

STEAM Project for the comprehensive training of Vocational Training students

Monlau FP also participates in the STEAM Project for the comprehensive training of Vocational Training students, an initiative aimed at strengthening critical skills through an interdisciplinary approach.

The project addresses areas such as mathematics, physics, humanities, technology, and challenge resolution, with the aim of better preparing students to continue their studies or face new professional challenges.

One of the project’s highlights is the development of competition robots, especially aimed at students who wish to continue their educational path in university studies or advanced technological fields.

The STEAM approach connects scientific, technical, and creative knowledge, fostering more comprehensive training. Additionally, it helps students develop critical thinking, teamwork, creativity, analytical skills, and problem-solving.

This project is coordinated by Usurbilgo Lanbide Eskola and involves Monlau Centre d’Estudis and IES Gran Vía de Alicante, as well as the collaboration of Innova’t Serveis Educatius SL. At Monlau, the project’s lead teachers are Alberto Gonzalo and Víctor García.

VEX Robotics U Spain 2026 Champions

One of the most notable milestones linked to the STEAM project has been the participation of Monlau FP students in VEX Robotics U Spain 2026.

After months of design, programming, optimization, and teamwork, Monlau FP was crowned champion of VEX Robotics U Spain 2026, securing a direct ticket to the VEX Robotics World Championship 2026, held in St. Louis, United States.

This achievement represents much more than a competitive result. It is a testament to the talent, perseverance, and technical level of the students, as well as the value of challenge-based training.

The project allowed them to put key skills into practice, such as programming, robotics, strategy, problem-solving, communication, and collaborative work.

It also highlighted the role of the teaching staff, who accompanied and guided the students throughout the process. Their dedication, motivation, and support were fundamental in turning months of work into an achievement with international projection.

This recognition demonstrates how innovation projects can become high-impact learning experiences, capable of motivating technological vocations and opening new academic and professional opportunities.

5G Robotic Station: technology, robotics, and IoT

Another innovation project in which Monlau FP participates is the Robotic station for quality control in the fruit and vegetable sector communicated via 5G, developed together with IES La Torreta de Elda.

This initiative allows exploring new solutions in robotics, automated systems, 5G technology, and the Internet of Things (IoT). The project connects education, technology, and industry, and exposes students to real challenges related to automation and quality control.

One of the project’s first milestones was the robot’s arrival at La Sagrera, the starting point for a learning experience based on experimentation, technical training, and collaborative work.

Throughout the project, teachers and students have participated in different training sessions and work meetings, sharing knowledge with the collaborating center and with specialized professionals.

Teacher training and collaboration between centers

Educational innovation requires technology, but it also requires teachers prepared to integrate it with pedagogical sense.

Therefore, the 5G robotic station project has included different training sessions for teachers. Monlau FP welcomed the teaching team from IES La Torreta de Elda to continue advancing in robotics training and the joint development of the project.

Sessions were also held outside the center, such as the specific training held at the headquarters of CFZ Cobots, in Elche, together with the IES La Torreta team. These meetings allowed for sharing knowledge, experiences, and new ways of applying technology to learning.

This type of collaboration between centers reinforces a key idea: innovating also means sharing knowledge, learning from other teams, and building solutions together.

New scientific and technological perspectives

Within the 5G robotic station project, students and the Monlau FP teaching team also participated in a training session with professionals linked to scientific and technological research.

The day featured the participation of Antonio Ruiz Canales, Doctor Agricultural Engineer, who explained how scientific research is applied to technological development.

Agustín Conesa Celdrán, a graduate in Biomedical Engineering, also spoke, sharing how artificial intelligence is transforming research and the future of technology.

This session allowed students to discover new perspectives, connect training with applied research, and understand how different disciplines can contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Projects that connect education, business, and innovation

The innovation projects developed by Monlau FP share a common vision: to prepare students for a constantly evolving professional future.

Augmented reality, robotics, 5G, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and the STEAM approach are not isolated technologies. They are tools that transform the way we learn, teach, and solve problems.

Thanks to these initiatives, students can come into contact with environments closer to professional reality, while the teaching team continues to update their skills and methodologies.

Furthermore, collaboration with other centers and specialized companies enriches projects, broadens perspectives, and generates new learning opportunities.

Monlau FP's commitment to innovation

At Monlau FP, we continue to commit to Vocational Training connected to market realities, technology, and the new challenges of society.

Since 2024, participation in these innovation projects has reinforced our commitment to practical, up-to-date education focused on developing real skills.

Through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, Monlau FP continues to promote initiatives that bring innovation to the classroom and prepare students for the challenges of the future.

Because training prepared professionals also means offering them innovative, collaborative, and real-world connected learning experiences.

Funding and institutional framework

These innovation projects are part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, within the actions aimed at promoting modernization, digitalization, and innovation in Vocational Training.
