- The agreement will allow Monlau’s Intermediate and Advanced Vocational Training students to train with the PPG LINQ™ digital ecosystem for bodyshops, which includes the PPG MOONWALK® automated paint mixing system and PPG MIX’N’SHAKE™, the innovative technology for agitating and preparing paint products before application, as well as specialized materials and training for automotive refinishing.
- One of Monlau’s workshops, which was officially inaugurated today, is now named the PPG LINQ™ Bodyshop
Barcelona, October 23, 2026
The Monlau FP PPG LINQ™ Bodyshop is now a reality. Thanks to the new collaboration agreement between the Monlau Foundation and PPG, our Automotive students will be able to train with advanced technologies already used in the professional body repair sector.
The new space was officially inaugurated on October 22, 2026, in an event that brought together institutional representatives, industry professionals, teachers, and students.
This collaboration will allow more than 1,200 Intermediate and Advanced Vocational Training Automotive students to have access to new digitalization, automation, and paint preparation tools.
An opportunity to continue bringing learning closer to the reality of workshops and to prepare future professionals for a sector in constant evolution.
A new workshop for learning with professional technology
The transformation of the automotive sector is also changing the way vehicles are repaired and painted.
Currently, bodyshops are incorporating new digital tools that allow for process optimization, improved precision, and better use of materials.
For this reason, the new PPG LINQ™ Bodyshop represents a step forward for the practical training of our students.
This space, integrated into one of the 15 Monlau FP Automotive workshops, will allow students to work with technological solutions used by professionals in the sector.
In this way, students will be able to combine learning traditional bodywork and painting techniques with the use of new automated systems.
What technologies does the PPG LINQ™ Bodyshop incorporate?
One of the most prominent aspects of the agreement is access to the PPG LINQ™ digital ecosystem, which connects technological tools and solutions to improve work processes in body and paint shops.
The main technologies include:
PPG MOONWALK®: automated paint mixing
This system allows for the automation of the paint mixing process, offering greater precision and consistency in product preparation.
Furthermore, it helps to reduce errors, minimize material waste, and avoid rework.
For students, it represents the opportunity to see how automation is transforming one of the fundamental tasks of refinishing professionals.
PPG MIX'N'SHAKE™: innovation in paint preparation
This is a technology that automates the agitation and preparation of products before their application.
The system allows for the correct mixing of pigments and components, improving color consistency and reducing the professional’s manual effort.
In this way, students will be able to familiarize themselves with processes designed to improve efficiency and work quality.
PPG LINQ™ Color: digitalization applied to color
The ecosystem also incorporates digital solutions such as PPG LINQ™ Color, a cloud-based software that facilitates access to color formulas and recommendations.
These tools allow for an understanding of how digitalization is changing the processes of color identification, preparation, and application.
More than 1,200 students will benefit from this collaboration
One of the main objectives of this initiative is for students to acquire skills connected to the real needs of companies.
Thanks to the agreement between the Monlau Foundation and PPG, more than 1,200 students from the Intermediate and Advanced Automotive Vocational Training cycles will benefit from access to these technologies.
However, the collaboration goes beyond the incorporation of new tools.
It also includes specialized training, consumable materials, installation and maintenance of the systems, as well as the necessary support to integrate them into educational activities.
In this way, students will be able to develop technical skills and familiarize themselves with the processes they will encounter in their future professional environment.
An inauguration that brings together training, business, and institutions
The official inauguration of the PPG LINQ™ Bodyshop was attended by representatives from the automotive sector and various institutions.
Notable attendees included Miquel Sàmper, Minister of Business and Labour of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and Lluís Font, Director of the Consorci per a la Formació Contínua de Catalunya.
Representing PPG were Juan Navarro, Marketing Director EMEA, and Paolo Tornaghi, Sales Director for Spain and Portugal.
Also present were Iban Ventura, General Manager of Monlau Group, and Carlos Salazar, Director of the Monlau Automotive center, along with other representatives, teachers, and students.
The meeting provided an opportunity to see the new facilities firsthand and highlight the importance of connecting Vocational Training with the companies driving the sector’s technological evolution.
Monlau Foundation and PPG: a collaboration to generate opportunities
This initiative has been promoted by the Monlau Foundation, in collaboration with PPG, with the aim of facilitating student access to professional knowledge, resources, and technologies.
The agreement also addresses one of the major challenges in the automotive repair sector: the need to incorporate new qualified professionals and encourage generational renewal.
In this sense, bringing professional workshop technologies into the classroom allows students to better understand the demands of the labor market and develop useful skills for their future.
As Iban Ventura, General Manager of Monlau Group, highlighted during the presentation of the agreement:
"At Monlau, we firmly believe that the best way to prepare our students for their professional future is by bringing them closer, from day one, to the reality of companies."
This collaboration reflects that shared vision: facilitating future professionals’ learning with the tools, processes, and methodologies used by the sector.
Practical training for the new challenges in Automotive
Digitalization and automation are transforming vehicle repair. Therefore, mastering new technologies has become an increasingly important competency for body and paint professionals.
With the inauguration of the PPG LINQ™ Bodyshop, Monlau FP expands the training resources available to its students and reinforces its connection with companies in the sector.
Furthermore, this initiative allows for the continued development of an educational model based on practical learning, technological updates, and contact with real professional environments.
The goal is for our students not only to know repair techniques but also to understand how processes evolve and what skills they will need during their professional careers.
Monlau FP: learning with the technologies of the present to work in the automotive industry of the future
The new PPG LINQ™ Bodyshop represents an opportunity to continue bringing training closer to professional reality.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Monlau Foundation and PPG, students will be able to continue developing their skills in an environment that incorporates technology, innovation, and specialized training.
An initiative that demonstrates the value of connecting educational centers and companies to prepare new generations of professionals.
