Madrid, October 14, 2026

Monlau officially announces its arrival in the Community of Madrid. The educational institution, with more than 40 years of experience, will open a private Vocational Education and Training centre specialising in Automotive in Leganés, which will begin its academic activity in September 2027, coinciding with the 2027–2028 academic year.

Monlau’s new Madrid campus will bring to the region a training model developed over decades in Barcelona, based on a predominantly hands-on methodology, facilities designed to replicate the professional environment, and an ongoing relationship with manufacturers, dealer groups and companies linked to the automotive industry.

The initial academic offering will comprise the Intermediate VET qualification in Vehicle Electromechanics, the Intermediate VET qualification in Bodywork and the Advanced VET qualification in Automotive. The first students at Monlau’s new centre in Madrid are expected to start classes in Leganés in September 2027. El teléfono al que pueden llamar las personas interesadas es el 911 883 333.

From Barcelona to Madrid

Currently, Grupo Monlau serves more than 2,500 students a year across its different training programmes in Barcelona. Within the group, the Automotive area is one of its main differentiators.

Monlau is currently Europe’s automotive aftersales training centre with the highest number of students. From Barcelona, it has built a specialised training ecosystem, with a strong practical focus and a close connection to the sector’s professional reality.

A new specialised centre in Leganés

Monlau’s new centre in Madrid will be located in Leganés, a strategic location due to its links to the business community. It will have classrooms, workshops and spaces dedicated to practical training, so that students learn from day one in a real professional environment.

“Arriving in Madrid represents a natural step in Monlau’s evolution. We want to put more than four decades of experience training automotive professionals at the service of Automotive students and Madrid-based companies. We will do so close to the largest automotive hub in the south of Madrid, Ciudad del Automóvil (Automobile City), while maintaining what has always defined us: specialisation, hands-on training and a direct connection with the sector.”

Business as part of the training model

The relationship with the business community will be another key pillar of the project. Monlau maintains close collaboration with manufacturers, major dealer groups, workshops and companies specialising in parts, diagnostics, paintwork, mobility and fleets.

The rollout in Madrid will make it possible to strengthen that network with companies that already collaborate with Monlau and have a presence in the Community of Madrid, as well as to foster new partnerships with local businesses.

“A physical presence in Madrid will also make it possible to strengthen the activity that Grupo Monlau carries out with professionals and companies in the automotive sector throughout Spain, through specialised training and solutions geared to the needs of the business community.”

These collaborations will bring business reality into the classroom through technical activities, the provision of vehicles and equipment, and will encourage the participation of active professionals who will deliver sessions in classrooms and provide opportunities for workplace training for students.

In the coming months, Monlau will share further details about the facilities, the enrolment process, the open days it will organise, and the agreements with companies that will accompany the opening of Monlau’s new centre in Madrid.
