Baccalaureate Dual

Earn two qualifications at the same time: the one here and the one from the United States

The Dual Diploma allows Monlau students to follow two education systems at the same time: the in-person Baccalaureate and the American High School Diploma online, thanks to the agreement signed with Academica Corporation.

How does it work?

  • Students complete the Dual Baccalaureate entirely online, with a computer and an internet connection.
  • Academica’s platform provides all content, activities, and communication tools with teaching staff.
  • Both the family and Monlau have access to the platform to monitor the student’s progress.

The weekly workload is similar to an extracurricular activity: 3 to 5 hours per week (depending on the subjects and each student’s pace).

Which subjects are taken?

Students must pass 6 online subjects:

  • 4 compulsory from the U.S. curriculum

  • 2 electives to choose from (such as Digital Photography, Criminology, Leadership, etc.)

Thanks to Academica’s international agreements, 75% of total credits are validated.
You only need to complete 6 of the 24 credits to obtain the official diploma.

When can you start?

The programme can be started from:

  • 2nd year of ESO

  • 3rd year of ESO

  • 4th year of ESO

  • or 1st year of Baccalaureate

The earlier you start, the more the workload will be spread out, and the greater the linguistic and digital immersion.

Taking only 1 or 2 subjects per year makes it easier to combine with in-person studies.

What does the student obtain?

At the end of the programme, if they have passed all subjects and achieved a minimum GPA of 2.0 (70%), the student obtains:

Monlau Baccalaureate qualification

The U.S. High School Diploma, with the same validity as that of an American student

It is an open door to international universities, global mobility, and improved English skills, autonomy, and personal responsibility.
